Bittoo Paswan, a 24-year-old from a small village in Aurangabad district of Bihar, spent years believing that his future had come to a halt. Born with Retinitis Pigmentosa, a progressive eye condition, Bittoo gradually lost his vision over time. Despite low vision, he continued studying in a government school in his village and completed his Class 10 in 2019. But soon after, his eyesight deteriorated completely.

The years that followed were filled with uncertainty. From 2020 to 2025, Bittoo remained at home without guidance, support, or access to information about opportunities available for persons with visual impairment. Living in a rural area where awareness around disability and accessibility was limited, he slowly began losing confidence in himself and his future.

Everything began to change in January 2025. While listening to job-related information on Hamari Vani, Bittoo heard about Eyeway and decided to call.

During calls, Bittoo openly shared how years of isolation had affected his confidence and motivation. He was encouraged to see that blindness did not have to mean the end of education or independence. With the right guidance, he was motivated to continue his studies and restart his academic journey.

With support and counselling, Bittoo secured admission in Class 12 at a regular school in Bihar. To make learning accessible, he received study materials in formats suited to his needs, allowing him to study independently. During examinations, support was also arranged to ensure he could appear for exams smoothly and confidently.

Slowly, Bittoo began rebuilding not just his education, but also his belief in himself. In 2026, he successfully completed his Class 12 with an impressive score of 82%-an achievement that brought renewed confidence and hope into his life.

Today, Bittoo is preparing to continue his higher education while also working toward his dream of securing a job in the Indian Railways. Alongside academic guidance, he is also receiving information about government schemes, scholarships, and competitive exam preparation opportunities.

Bittoo’s journey is a reminder that the biggest transformation often begins with access to the right information. What once felt like years of hopelessness has now become a path toward education, independence, and possibility.
