Pushpa Kodak, from Tuni, Andhra Pradesh, was born into a middle-class family and has lived with Retinitis Pigmentosa, a progressive eye condition that gradually reduces vision. Despite this challenge, she remained determined to pursue her education and successfully completed her M.A. in Sociology.
As her vision continued to deteriorate, Pushpa realised the importance of developing new skills to maintain her independence and build a successful career. Determined to create a better future, she reached out to Eyeway for guidance and support.
After understanding her needs and career aspirations, the Eyeway team provided career counselling and advised her to strengthen her computer and assistive technology skills. She was guided to enrol in a training programme at Vision Aid Organisation, Visakhapatnam, where she received comprehensive training in computer operations, screen reader technology, communication skills, and workplace readiness.
Upon successfully completing the training, Pushpa gained the confidence and practical skills needed to enter the corporate workforce. Eyeway continued to support her by connecting her with suitable job opportunities and assisting her throughout the recruitment process.
Today, Pushpa is proudly working as a Customer Support Executive at Vindhya Infotech, Bengaluru. Her journey from coping with progressive vision loss to securing meaningful employment reflects her resilience, determination, and willingness to learn.
Pushpa's success story highlights how timely career guidance, accessible training, and personal perseverance can empower persons with visual impairment to achieve financial independence and build fulfilling careers. Her journey continues to inspire others to believe in their abilities, overcome challenges, and pursue their goals with confidence.
