YEAR 2026–2027
Apprentices
Total posts:1599, out of which 50 for PwD candidates

Applicants must have already passed the prescribed educational qualification as on the date of issue of this
notification, i.e. 21/08/2026, as detailed below:
Educational Qualification:
Applicants must have passed Matriculation (10th Class) under the 10+2 examination system with a minimum of
50% aggregate marks from a recognized Board.
The number of training slots shown in this notification is provisional and liable to increase or decrease
depending upon the actual needs of the Administration at the time of finalization of selection.
No fee is required to be paid by SC/ST/PwBD/Women applicants.
Training Period
Selected applicants shall undergo apprenticeship training as per extant rules
Stipend
Selected candidates engaged as apprentices will be paid a stipend at the prescribed rate during the training
period, as per the extant rules and directives issued by the Railway Board from time to time.
The selection of eligible applicants for training under the Apprentices Act, 1961 will be based on a merit list.
The merit list for each unit will be prepared solely on the basis of the percentage of marks obtained in
Matriculation, subject to a minimum of 50% aggregate marks. The final panel will be drawn based on the
Matriculation marks of the eligible applicants.
Applicants are not required to send any hard copies of applications, certificates, or documents to RRC/BBS by
post. All relevant documents must be uploaded online only

Training & Stipend
• Apprentices will be paid a monthly stipend at the prescribed rate as per the extant rules.
• No hostel accommodation will be provided during training; apprentices must make their own arrangements.
On completion of training, the apprentices will be released.
