P.D.A. designed for blind

Thu, 07/26/2012 - 10:07 -- admin

The ‘Maestro’ consists of a standard Dell P.D.A. with a special tactile overlay, which allows people to enter data via touch, or an optional Bluetooth Braille keyboard. The information flows from the Maestro to the user in audio form thanks to a built-in voice synthesizer.

With the Maestro, users can access the features expected in a regular P.D.A. It has full e-mail capabilities that can use either ActiveSync or Wi-Fi. Its enhanced media player will be especially useful to play audio books in either M.P.3. or W.M.A (Windows Media Audio) formats. It also has all the calendar and task management tools you would expect. Maestro is also available with Trekker -the talking G.P.S. system.

Maestro 2.0 has been created by ‘Humanware’ (New Zealand).
