IBSA has, now, completed 25 years of its existence.  It is organising a week-long  series of events from January 4-10, 2012 to commemorate its silver jubilee.  The week long events will be inaugurated by Mr. Sultan Ahmed, Hon’ble Minister of State for Tourism, Government of India and President, Paralympic Committee of India on January 4, 2012 at 11.00 a.m.

The events taking place during the week consist of national tournaments in:

(a)     Football,

(b)     Kabaddi

(c)     Powerlifting.

A coaching camp for blind sports instructors and promising blind athletes is another important feature of the week.  About 350 blind athletes from all over the country will participate in the these week-long events.

The week will conclude with a closing function on 10th January at 3.30 p.m.
The salient feature of the function is the presentation of silver jubilee special awards to outstanding blind athletes winning medals at different international championships, prominent affiliates participating actively in IBSA sports meets, affiliates winning maximum Championships Trophies, in Men/Women category separately, leading sports coaches for the blind and the
Association’s founder-members.  In all, about 35 awards will be presented at the function.
