Khwaja Chair, Jamia Millia Islamia; and Mr. Armoogum Parsuramen, Founder, Global Rainbow Foundation, Mauritius speak of the need to redress perceptions of disability as a punishment, curse or defect
Moderator: Ms Simmi Kher, Tony Blair Faith Foundation
A series of such workshop aim to act as an interdisciplinary forum that invites opinion of people with impairment and their families, their guardians or their very near and dear ones through religious, educational and scientific perspectives. We do not want that people with disabilities should renounce the world in the name of spirituality and religion but we think that religious and spiritual involvements are often key components of community life, as they can be a source of hope, emotional and social support, and a tool for coping.
