Sir/Madam,

The Examination Committee at its meeting held on 10.9.2012 has taken the following resolutions which have also been approved by the Governing Body of the Board at its meeting held on 26.9.2012 relating to the JAWS(Job Access with Speech) software for visually challenged candidates appearing for the Board’s Class X/XII, 2013 examinations:

a) candidate(s) desirous of using JAWS programme for appearing in class X/XII examinations shall be required to bring their computer alongwith JAWS software to the examination centre with prior intimation to the Board

b) candidate(s) using JAWS software would not be provided with amanuensis

c) candidates desirous of using this software will be allotted examination center only in the city in which the Regional Office is situated;

d) Centre Superintendents will be requested to appoint a PGT(Computer Science) to act as Assistant Superintendent for such candidates. The Assistant Superintendent appointed shall also ensure that the candidate uses only this software and not any other function of the computer

e) concessions being extended by the Board to visually challenged candidates not using JAWS would continue to be provided as at present.
