NIT Kurukshetra invites application from Indian nationals belonging to SC, ST, OBC and PwD categories for faculty positions in the following disciplines at the level of Assistant Professor:
Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Management, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Humanities & Social Sciences, Business Administration and Computer Applications.
Last date: 20 June 2012, by 5:30 p.m.
The application form and other details can be downloaded from Institute’s Website www.nitkkr.ac.in. A bank draft of Rs.200/- towards application fee be invariably sent alongwith the downloaded application form. However, SC, ST and PwD candidates are exempted from paying an application fee. The application form and instructions sheet can also be obtained from the office of Deputy Registrar (GA & Legal) on payment of Rs. 200/- by cash w.e.f. 21.5.2012 or by sending a Accounts Payee Bank Draft of Rs. 250/- drawn in favour of Director, NIT, Kurukshetra payable at SBI, NIT, Kurukshetra (Code No.6260) alongwith a self addressed envelope (23x10 cm).Separate form is to be filled if applying for more than one post (s).
The application form duly filled in all respects alongwith attested copies of necessary documents must reach the Registrar, NIT, Kurukshetra-136119 on or before 20.06.2012 by 5.30 p.m. Incomplete applications will not be entertained.

GENERAL CONDITIONS
1. The candidates are required to apply in the prescribed application form.
Candidates applying for more than one discipline/ post are required to use
separate application forms and fee.
2. The Institute reserves the right not to fill any post(s).
3. Number and nature of posts shown above may change and vary at the
time of selection/recruitment.
4. The Age limit and qualifications/experience etc. for all the posts shall be
determined as on the last date of receipt of application forms.
5. The applicant will be responsible for the authenticity of submitted
information, other documents and photograph
6. Furnishing of any false information and/or suppression/ concealment of
facts shall lead to rejection/cancellation of selection/recruitment.
7. Attach conversion criteria of CGPA to percentage (%) from the
University/Institution/Board.
8. Any application without required certificates/testimonials and without
SC/ST/OBC/PwDs certificate issued by the competent authority is liable to
be rejected.

9. Mere fulfillment of the required qualifications and experience etc., does not
entitle a candidate to be called for interview/selection
10. The Institute reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates for
interview to a reasonable limit, on the basis of qualifications and
experience, higher than those prescribed in this advertisement, and as per
merit decided by scrutiny committee.
11. Reservation for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) Category exists as per
Govt. of India norms. Positions from this category will be filled up
depending on the available of suitable candidate. Candidates may indicate
this on their application forms and bring necessary certificates from
competent authority as applicable to Central Government Service norms,
at the time of interview. The final selection will be made on the basis of the
recommendations of a Medical Board/Officer to be appointed for
examining the physical disability.
12. Besides the basic pay in the applicable scale of pay of the post,
admissible allowances like DA, HRA etc. in accordance with central
Government/Institute Rules in force from time to time are payable. The
employees of the Institute will be entitled to medical benefit for self and
family. New Pension Scheme of Govt. of India is applicable on fresh
recruiters as per Institute Rules. Accommodation in campus, if available,
will be provided on payment of usual rent (house rent allowances if
accommodation is not provided). Leave Travel Concession for self and
family as per Central Government Rules.
13. Candidates employed in Govt. service should send their applications
through proper channel. In case, the original application if routed through
proper channel which is likely to be delayed, a photocopy of the
application should be sent in advance to reach before the prescribed last
date. All such candidates are required to produce No Objection Certificate
at the time of interview.
14. The Industry/Research experience should be in Government or Public
Enterprise or National Laboratory. However, experience in Private Industry
will be considered provided it is incorporated in the Indian Companies Act
of 1956.
15. Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification for the post.
16. Applications received after last date (due to Postal/Courier delays) will not
be considered.

17. Bring all relevant certificates and testimonials at the time of interview
(Original and one set attested copy).
18. Traveling Allowance (TA) is admissible to the SC/ST candidates called for
interview as per the Institute norms. TA will be admissible subject to
maximum up to AC II Class by the shortest route from the address
mentioned in the interview letter or the place of journey to the Institute
whichever is less, on submission of tickets of both ways journey.
19. Applicants have to apply in prescribed format available at Institute website
on or before 20.06.2012 by 5.30 p.m. Incomplete applications and those
without supporting documents shall be rejected.
20. Selected candidates will have to produce a medical fitness certificate from
a Government Hospital prior to joining. They should be prepared to join
duty within the specified time limit. Selected candidates will be on
probation initially for one year which may be extended on unsatisfactory
performance.
