Score Foundation is looking for 2 Helpdesk counsellors for the National Helpdesk at New Delhi. Interested candidates may go through the information below:

The aforementioned beliefs sowed the seeds for setting up a knowledge portal on life with blindness. Consequently, Score Foundation was registered as a not-for-profit organization   under Indian Trust Act in 2002
Its Project Eyeway was launched in 2004. This project currently comprises the website – www.eyeway.org, a weekly radio programme – Eyeway Yeh Hai Raushni Ka Karwan, social media – Facebook, Twitter and Whatsap, sensitization programmes, research, advocacy and the Helpdesk
Our National Helpdesk is functional for the last 8 years. Now we propose to set up a national network of Helpdesks in order to reach out to blind and low vision people across the country and address queries of callers in their languages relevant to their socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.

Job Title:
National Helpdesk Counselor

Job Purpose:
Since we are expanding our team, we are looking to fill up two permanent and full time positions. Please note that the first 6 months are a trial period, but on pay.

1. The counseloris responsible for providing information to the clients matching their informational needs either through phone or email to the best of his/her ability in a professional and courteous manner.
2.The counsellor has to have ready knowledge of a wide range of issues in the domain of life with blindness

3. The counsellor has to have the willingness for finding answers as per clients’ needs.
4. The counselor has to speak with consultants/referrals in order to resolve the client’s informational need.
5.  The counselor needs to be familiar with the existing research/information resources/knowledge bases so that he/she is able to explore and develop new sources of information whenever such need arises.
6. The counselor is expected to learn and stay abreast of current news, problems, changes and updates relevant to the domain of life with blindness.
7. The counselor has to do research for the knowledge repository based on the informational needs of the clients.
8. The responsibilityof documenting the client’s details and issues handled is with the same counselor who has spoken with the client.
9. The counselor Contributes to, and works in co-ordination with, other channels/activities of Score Foundation towards meeting its vision, mission and objectives.
10.The counselor has to perform other duties as assigned. 

Educational Qualification:
Graduate in any subject

Experience:
At least 2 years in a similar or related position. In case of no or less than 2 years experience, the candidate will be eligible for the post of Trainee Helpdesk Counselor.

Knowledge and skills:
The potential counsellor should have good information on rules and regulations, facilities and organisations, products and services, achievers and other relevant knowledge in the domain of visual disability.The skillset required  is:Good interpersonal skills, team spirit, command ofHindi,  English, knowledge of a local language is an advantage, committed, independent, initiator, sound working knowledge of Internet, Ms Windows, Ms Word, Ms Excel and Assistive Technology.

Working days and timings:
Monday-Friday 10 A.M.-5.30 P.M.

Salary:
15,000 to 20,000 will be negotiable depending upon experience
