Braille system of writing inventor Louis Braille’s 206th birth anniversary was celebrated by blind students at Nehru Seva Sangh here on Sunday. Vice-president of Sangh Prof Rankanath Hota presided.
Braille, who was a blind himself, had invented “Six Dots Cell System” for education of the blind children.
Assistant Conservator of Forest Raj Kishore Swain, former Sub-Collector Satyanarayan Sarangi, Sangh treasurer Omprakash Agrawal, headmaster Ladukeswar Sahu, Kabita Devi, Nursingh Moharana and Jugal Mohanty among others spoke.
While Pradeep Das paid vote of thanks, the guests and children paid floral tribute to statues of Braille and Sangh founder Swami Harihar Ram.
