BANGIYA GRAMIN VIKASH BANK invites applications from Indian citizens, for the post of Specialist Officer in Middle Management Grade (Scale II), Officer in Junior Management (Scale I) Cadre and Office Assistant (Multipurpose) who have been declared qualified at the Online CWE for RRBs conducted by IBPS during September/ October 2014.

1. Officer Scale-I
No. of posts: 147, out of which 01 for Visually Impaired
SCALE OF PAY: Rs. 14500-25700/- 
PROBATION PERIOD: Two years
Age: 18-28 years
Educational Qualification: i. Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent 
 
Preference will be given to the candidates having degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy; 
 
ii. Proficiency in local language 
 
iii Computer knowledge or awareness will be an added qualification
 
2. Office Assistant (Multipurpose)
No. of posts: 188, out of which 02 for Visually Impaired
SCALE OF PAY: Rs. 7200-19300/-
PROBATION PERIOD: One year
Age: 18-28 years
Educational Qualification: Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent 
(a) Essential: Proficiency in local language 
(b) Desirable: Knowledge of Computer skills
 
Note: It is clarified that Persons with Disabilities will have to work in Branches/Offices which have posts identified by the Bank as suitable for them.
 
Age relaxation: Persons With Disability 10 years
 
Language Proficiency - The candidates applying for the posts of Officer Scale I and Office Assistants –(Multipurpose) are required to possess proficiency in the local language Bengali of the State.
 
(The condition does not apply for the posts of Officer Scale II and III). For ensuring proficiency in local language, the candidate should have –
a. Local language at 10thStd level
OR
b. Native language at 10thStd level
OR
c. Local language at any level upto graduation level
 
INTERVIEW CENTRE: The Interview will be held at Berhampore, Dist. Murshidabad, West Bengal and the complete address of the venue will be advised in the call letters. The address of the venues will also be displayed in the Bank’s website one week before the dates for commencement of Interviews. 
 
The candidates will have to appear for interview at their own expense.
 
Only candidate willing to serve anywhere in the operational area of the bank should apply. 
 
All Candidates must submit the photo copies of the prescribed certificates in support of their educational qualification, experience, date of birth, caste, etc. The candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/Persons with Disabilities Category are required to submit an attested copy of their caste certificate/certificate of handicap issued by the competent authority, in addition to other certificates as specified above. Candidates will also have to produce original caste certificate/relevant certificates at the time of Interview, failing which his/her candidature will be cancelled.
 
A recent, recognizable passport size photograph should be firmly pasted on the computer generated application form and should be signed across by the candidate. Three copies of the same photograph should be retained for use at the time of interview. Candidates are advised not to change their appearance till the recruitment process is complete. Failure to produce the same photograph at the time of the interview may lead to disqualification.
 
HOW TO APPLY:
 
Candidates are required to apply online through Bank’s website www.bgvb.co.in No other means/ mode of application will be accepted.
 
Candidates should ensure that their personal email ID (as specified in the online application form while applying for RRBs- CWE III conducted in September/October 2014) is kept active during the currency of a recruitment project. Bank may send call letters for Interview etc. to the registered e-mail ID.
 
The applicant should sign and affix his/her photograph on such printout of application and keep the same ready for submission if selected for Interview along with copies of required documents mentioned below: 
 
1. Printout of the online application submitted. 
2. 10th standard / 12th standard / Graduation examination Mark sheet in support of local language (Bengali) for posts of Officer Scale I and Office Assistants (Multipurpose).
 
3. Attested copy of School leaving certificate or any other document as proof of age acceptable to the Bank. 
4. Attested copies of Mark sheets / certificates in support of Educational Qualification; 
5. Attested copy of certificate of Computer Course, as applicable; 
6. Caste / PWD any other related certificate as applicable. 7. Photo identity proof. 
8. Any other relevant document.
 
All eligible candidates will be issued call letters at the correspondence address given by the candidates in their application form, which will be sent by post/ courier.
 
Candidate has to affix his/her photograph on the call letter. Candidate has to bring this call letter and requisite enclosures while attending the Interview without which they will not be allowed to take up the Interview. 
 
Definition of Persons With Disabilities:
 
Under Section 33 of the Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act 1995 only such persons would be eligible for reservation who suffer from not less than 40% of relevant disability and are certified by a Medical Board constituted by the Central/State Govt. 
 
Accordingly, candidates with the following disabilities are eligible to apply. Candidates claiming such benefits should produce certificate in original in support of their claim at the time of Interview. Persons With Disabilities will have to work in Branches/ Offices as identified by the respective RRB. 
 
 Visually Impaired (VI) 
 
Blindness refers to condition where a person suffers from any of the following conditions namely (1) Total absence of sight, (ii) Visual acuity not exceeding 6/60 or 20/200 (Snellen) in the better eye with correcting lenses. (iii) Limitation of the field of vision subtending in angle of 20 degrees or worse. 
 
Low vision means a person with impairment of visual functioning even after treatment or standard refractive correction but who uses or is potentially capable of using vision for the planning of execution of a task with appropriate assistive device. 
 
Guidelines for Persons With Disabilities using a Scribe
 
(i) The visually impaired candidates and candidates whose writing speed is affected by cerebral palsy can use their own scribe at their cost during the online examination,subject to limits as in (ii) and (iii) below. In all such cases where a scribe is used, the following rules will apply: 
 
• The candidate will have to arrange his/her own scribe at his/her own cost. 
 
• The scribe arranged by the candidate should not be a candidate for the examination (CWE- RRBs). If violation of the above is detected at any stage of the process, candidature for CWE of both the candidate and the scribe will be cancelled. 
 
• Same scribe cannot be used by more than one candidate. 
 
• The scribe may be from any academic stream. However for Specialist Officers’ posts the scribe should be from an academic stream different from that prescribed for the post. 
 
• Both the candidate as well as scribe will have to give a suitable undertaking confirming that the scribe fulfils all the stipulated eligibility criteria for a scribe mentioned above. Further in case it later transpires that he/she did not fulfill any laid down eligibility criteria or suppressed material facts the candidature of the applicant will stand cancelled, irrespective of the result of the online examination. 
 
• Those candidates who use a scribe shall be eligible for compensatory time of 20 minutes for every hour of the examination. 
 
Visually Impaired candidates:
 
Visually Impaired candidates (who suffer from not less than 40% of disability) may opt  to view the contents of the test in magnified font and all such candidates will be eligible for compensatory time of 20 minutes for every hour of examination. 
 
The facility of viewing the contents of the test in magnifying font will not be available to Visually Impaired candidates who use the services of a Scribe for the examination.
