Members of the unemployed wing of the Bharat Netarheen Sewak Samaj staged a protest in front of the office of the DPI, Elementary, in Phase VIII here today.
The protesters also raised slogans in support of their demands.
The protesters said 167 vacancies of JBTs and ETTs should be filled from among the visually impaired hobby teachers having a proper knowledge of music.
They also demanded the unconditional regularisation of the services of visually impaired teachers, grant of the JBT grade to table players in schools and colleges and an increase in the unemployment allowance from Rs 250 per month to Rs 1,000.
