In an effort to create skilled workforce by providing necessary supports, visually impaired students were given PABX and call centre training aiming to involve them in mainstream of development to ensure their normal life, reports BSS.
This was revealed at an iftar programme organized by the Institute of Hazrat Mohammad (SAW) on the occasion of the first day of Ramadan on Friday. The programme also marked the completion of third batch of PABX and call centre training for visually impaired persons.
Senior officials of different diplomatic missions, President of Bangladesh Association of Call Center and Outsourcing (BACCO) Ahmadul Hoque, Director Administration of the Institute of Hazrat Mohammad (SAW) Barrister Rizwana Yusuf, among others, attended the iftar programme with President of the Institute Lt. Gen. (Retd) M. Nooruddin Khan in the chair.
Nooruddin Khan underscored the importance of education, empowerment and employment opportunities to help disabled persons lead dignified lives. He urged all concerned to follow the teachings of Prophet Hazrat Mohammad (SAW) in building a peaceful society. Other speakers said Bangladesh has huge potentiality of revenue earning at both domestic and foreign markets as it has a large number of young population. The young generation should acquire good communication skills in English to ensure their better access to international markets, they said, adding India is earning huge foreign currency from global markets because of their good communication skill in English.
The call center industry in Bangladesh was worth around $12 billion in 2013, of which 50 percent was accounted for by the country’s domestic market.
According to industry experts, the call center industry in the country could generate more than a million jobs earning handsome amount of revenue.
The Institute of Hazrat Mohammad (SAW) is a research think-tank founded by Ahmad Shafi Maqsood in 2003. It provides training for visually impaired persons on IT, PABX, call centre, the Holy Quran in Braille and spoken English.
