American India Foundation (AIF) in partnership with the National Centre for Promotion of Employment of Disabled People (NCPEDP) is organizing the NCPEDP-AIF WALK TO FREEDOM on 3rd December 2016, to celebrate International Day for Persons with Disabilities. It is also an occasion to celebrate 10 years of the United Nations Convention on Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UN CRPD) and advocate for inclusion of disability across the Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs) in the Indian context.
Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi, Member of Parliament from Delhi has graciously consented to be the Chief Guest for this event. This event will be held at India Gate at 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
It will be an opportunity to listen to the experts from the field expressing solidarity to the cause and raising awareness on inclusion and abilities of persons with disabilities. A bouquet of colourful cultural performances by persons with disabilities from NGOs across Delhi NCR has also been put together to showcase their Abilities. These performances will culminate into the symbolic Walk around India Gate.
We take this opportunity to invite you and your team to be part of this annual event in an expression of solidarity to the cause that we all are committed to. An invitation is attached. For further information and confirmation of participation, please write to Renuka Bhagat (renuka.bhagat@aif.org).
