As many as 12 blind men and women from the State under the guidance of National Association for the Blind, Odisha State branch left on Thursday to take part in the 21st USHA National Athletics Championship for the Blind to be held in New Delhi from December 10 to 13.
The championship is being organised by the Indian Blind Sports Association in which the participants to take part in different events like 100 meter, 200 meter, 400 meter, 800 meter and 1,500 meter sprint race, long jump, shot put throw, discuss throw and others.
Members of many organisation from Bhubaneswar, Lions Club district governor Biswanath Mohanty, Sumant Chandra Das, Ajay Kumar Sahu, Juniad Khan, Hena Mahapatra, Kishore Kumar Baliasingh and others congratulated the participants, who left for New Delhi with coach Trilochan Behura, association secretary Ajay Kumar Samal and escort Bijaylaxmi Dei.
