Special Recruitment Drive for PWD [Professor (English) & Assistant Librarian]
National Institute of Technology, Uttarakhand is one among 31 NITs established by the Government of India by an Act of the Parliament. 
 
Applications are invited from Indian nationals for the post of Professor (English) and Assistant Librarian from PWD category possessing  excelent accademic background. Interested candidates may apply in prescribed application form, which may be downloaded along with details of posts, qualifcations, experience and general conditons from the
Institute website i.e. www.nituk.ac.in. The complete application must reach NIT Uttarakhand on or before 31st May, 2016.

Pay Scale: PB-4:Rs. 37,400-67,000/- with AGP `10,500/- [Minimum Pay Rs. 48,000]
 
Essential Qualifcation: Ph.D.
 
Experience:
10 years after Ph.D. or 13 years total (not counting Ph.D. enrolment period) out of which 07 years are to be after Ph.D.; At least thre years to be at Associate Professor level in an institution of repute.
 
Other esential requirements:
 
Two Ph.D. degrees guided in Caree4r as sole or principal supervisor. The following during the past 04 years; (i) 03 papers in SCI journals; (i) One High value sponsored or consultancy project; (i) Academic outreach activity equivalent to two self-financed courses offered as cordinator and main teacher; (iv) Two experiments or computational design projects with added to teaching laboratories where apropriate.

Presentation for Professor (English): All the candidates appearing for Personal Interview will have to make a presentation for 2 minutes about himself/herself followed by a 5 minute presentation on a topic relevant to the post applied. Candidate can select the topic of his/her own choice and is expected to come prepared for presentation. Facilties like LCD projector, Writng Board shall be provided. The presentation shall preferably be on the best research work done by the candidate himself/herself.
 
 
Shortlisted candidates shall be called for Written Test/Personal Interview by email. List of the shortlisted candidates will be available on Institute website i.e. www.nituk.ac.in.
 
HOW TO APPLY:
 
Candidates willing to apply are requested to download Application Form from the Institute website i.e. www.nituk.ac.in.
 
Candidates should submit self-attested photocopies of certifcates and documents mentioned below in the same sequence. No aditonal documents / certifcates should be attached.
 
Applications without copies of apropriate certifcates/documents shall be rejected.
 
a. Proof of Date of Birth (High school certifcate/Birth certifcate/leaving certifcate). In the absence of certifcate, 
application will be summarily rejected.
 
b. Category Certifcate (for SC/ST/OBC candidates only) isued by competent authority, if not attached, application will be considered in OPEN-PWD category provided candidate fulfills the age and shortlisting criteria for open category. Non-creamy Layer Certifcate (for OBC candidates only) is based on parents’ income. 
 
Candidates are required to submit OBC certifcates along with non-creamy layer certifcate valid on 31st May, 2016. However, in the absence of neccesary certifcates proving category, guidelines issued by  Government of India will be followed.
 
c. For Persons with Disabilty, Certifcate from Competent Authority only will be considered. If no certifcate is attached, application will NOT be considered.'
 
d. Mark Sheets of SC (X) & HSC (X+I) must be attached. Final Year Mark sheets/Grade Cards and Degree Certifcates for the Examinations mentioned in the Application Form in the same sequence. (Any degree mentioned will not be considered unles certifcates are attached). No Degree/Diploma Certifcate shall be considered unless supported by
Degree/Diploma Certifcate or Provisional Degree/Diploma Certifcate along with mark sheets. Only a grade card/mark sheet will not be treated as proof of eligibilty of the Degree/Diploma, unles it specifcally and unconditonaly indicates that the student is eligible for award of degree.
 
e. Rank Certifcates (if any).
f. NET/SET/GATE qualifying certifcates.
g. List of publications as per the categories of publication duly signed by candidate.
h. Details of Research Projects/Consultancy Projects/Short Term Courses
Conducted/Experimental (Computational) Projects introduced in Laboratory/Courses Taught/Patents mentioned in the application (not more than 5 pages and each page signed by candidate) for Professor-English only.
 
i. Photocopies of two publications which are most important in candidate’s opinion (For Professor-English only).
 
j. Experience Certifcate from employer (any experience claimed without certifcate will not be counted). Any claim of any kind of experience (research/administration/teaching which is not obvious by designation) shall not be considered unles suported by the documents/certifcate issued by the competent authority. When experience at specifc Grade
Pay/Pay scale is mentioned and the experience certifcate doesn’t indicate the pay, separate certifcate indicating the Grade Pay/Pay scale from competent authority is to be submited for counting the experience.
 
 
k. Any other information which the candidate desires to provide (one page only, duly signed).
 
All photocopies and documents including COVERING LEtTER should be enclosed with application form. Application form must be on front page. All photocopies, documents should be in A4 size. Please do not submit your application in any file, neither use any cover sheet or binding strips etc. Simply tie all the pages by stapler /lace.
 
The Written Test/Personal Interview shall be conducted at National Institute of Technology, Uttarakhand, Srinagar Garhwal.
 
TA/DA will be paid for attending the Written Test/ Personal Interview as per Govt. of India norms amended from time to time.
 
Age Relaxation - PWD – 10 Years (15 years for SC/ST, 13 Years for OBC).
