National Association for the Blind (NAB) was established & registered in 1979 under the Society Registration Act as the state branch of NAB, India. Initial scope of activities included education facility from preparatory level to senior secondary level of CBSE for the blind, a unit for the multi-handicapped and a unit for the deaf blind, a talking book library, a hostel for the blind children, and a computer training department.

Post: Program Manager
Blind/low vision candidates will be given preference in selection for this position
The Program manager is required to supervise the computer training, technical support, DAISY digital book library and Braille production units of NAB Delhi.
JOB PROFILE INCLUDES
Administration of the IT unit, allocation of responsibilities to staff and monitoring progress.
Preparation of project proposals, budgets, progress reports, co-ordination with funding agencies and management.
Liaison with the sponsors throughout the project implementation period.
Attending outsiders (visitors, donors, groups)
Prepare training schedule, conduct interviews & admissions.
Counselling of visually impaired persons & their family regarding career options & selection of trainings.
Liaison with prospective employers for placement of trained candidates
Quality verification of the audio & e-text books produced by NAB.
Supervision of the NAB Assistive Technology Helpline service
Conduct basic computer training classes of blind students when required
Supervision of Braille production at NAB
The working hours are 10 AM to 5 PM Monday to Saturday.
ELIGIBILITY:
The candidate should possess good knowledge of various assistive
technologies for the persons with disabilities and should have
experience in conducting training programs.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
1. Essential: Graduation in any stream (Social sciences may be given
preference)
2. Desirable: Degree/Diploma in Social Work, NGO Management,
Special Education or similar
PROFESSIONAL & TECHNICAL QUALIFICATION
1. Degree/Diploma in IT related subject (Computer Application,
Programming, Networking etc.)
2. Training/s in Assistive Technologies
SKILLS
Good communication skills, the candidate is required to make resentations and work with a team
Fluent in speaking English and Hindi
Good writing skills in English
EXPERIENCE:
The candidate should have worked in a similar resource centre for the isabled persons for at least 3 years.
SALARY:
he salary for this position is in the range of Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 30,000 er month and depends upon the skills and experience of the candidate. Initially a contract for 1 year will be offered and extension will depend upon project sponsorship and performance of the candidate.
