The exciting session started with participants' introductions. Then we moved on to finding the meaning of what 'Dignity' meant to each one of us. In a nutshell, 'Dignity' meant self respect, self value, and positive self esteem to all of us.
Next we discussed the basic road to achieving success!
As failure is always encountered on the way to success, we decided to hear about the same from all the participants as they were all achievers in their own right! Hence, we went on to sharing and understanding our own failures.
We did this to encourage and motivate ourselves and others, that failures will always come our way; that is, if we are trying to achieve something!
Also, we wanted to remind ourselves and others, that whoever has achieved anything at all, their road to success took them through all kinds of failures and pit falls. Hence, we were trying to establish that there are no shortcuts in life! One has to and must work hard to achieve anything at all!
The quality and quantity of success is directly related to the kind of
work you put into achieving the same! And that means that you need to fail along the line somewhere! We discovered that most of us were quite open to share our failures with the group and few of us were hesitant to do so.
Then we evaluated our journeys with Dignity sessions; i.e. how it has impacted our lives. In a nutshell most of us have developed confidence, sense of responsibility and self-worth, sharing attitude, improvement in
personality and a positive change in outlook towards life.
Dr. Jyotsna an English faculty in ASD College South Delhi has shown deep interest to take over the lead role of the Dignity project and we welcome her kind offer of doing so! We wish her all the best and will lend her all our support! At the moment, Ms. Binni was leading the group!
We have planned to conduct Session 10 of the Dignity project, on the 4th Sunday of January 2017!
