Sarthak Educational Trust, a Delhi based NGO working towards training and employment of persons with disability, with the support of Department of Social Security Women and Child Development, Government of Punjab, is extending their services to people with disability in Ludhiana.

The NGO is starting Sarthak Kaushal Vikas Kendra to offer training and employment services to maximum number of people with disability in Ludhiana region. Sarthak Kaushal Vikas Kendra was inaugurated yesterday by Rajat Aggarwal, Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana, at Braille Bhawan, Jamalpur.

Sarthak is an organisation dedicated towards the employment of persons with disability and their rehabilitation.

Through these kendras it aims to facilitate training and employment opportunities and allow people with disability to lead a life of self-reliance and dignity.

It trains and prepares the differently abled people for jobs and at the same time explores job opportunities in various sectors and organisations to place them.

So far Sarthak has conducted 80 job fairs across India.

Jitendra Aggarwal, CEO, Sarthak Educational Trust, said: “We at Sarthak believe that a person with disability can easily lead a life of dignity and financial independence.

With some training and an inclusive work environment we can shape a meaningful life for them.”

“Sarthak instills confidence in young minds enabling them to face the world with a purposive and pragmatic approach towards employment. Equally crucial is the need to sensitise the corporates and employing firms about the rich human resource hidden in the differently abled. As members of civil society we must encourage differently abled workforce to join the market forces and live a life of quality standards without being dependent on others,” he said.

Sarthak has successfully employed 5,000 people in different sectors through job fairs or personal training approach. So far it has trained 2,250 people and has organised 17 round tables for sensitising NGOs and corporates. The people trained by them are today aptly placed in good companies.
