Dear Sir,

PAYMENT OF CONVEYANCE ALLOWANCE TO THE BLIND AND ORTHOPAEDICALLY HANDICAPPED EMPLOYEES
 
Please refer to our Staff Circular No. 17 dated 04 03 2002 advising that effective from 1.1.2002 Blind and Orthopaedically handicapped employees of the Bank may be paid conveyance allowance @ 5% of the revised basic pay drawn by them from time to time subject to a maximum of Rs.200/- p.m.
 
2. Government of India has since approved the upward revision of the rate of conveyance allowance payable to the Blind and Orthopaedically handicapped employees in public sector banks from Rs.200/- to Rs.400/- p.m. In case of  orkmen staff, the allowance will be in addition to the transport allowance  ayable to all workmen as per the 8th Bipartite Settlement, which is currently Rs.105/- p.m.
 
3. The eligible employees who are provided with the Bank’s vehicle for travel between office and residence will not be eligible for conveyance allowance.

Eligible employees who are allotted residential accommodation in the same campus as the branch/office of the Bank will also not be eligible for the allowance.

4. The increased allowance, as above may be paid to the Blind and  rthopaedically handicapped employees w.e.f. 18.2.2009. Other extant instructions in regard to payment of conveyance allowance will remain unchanged.
