Hongkong based Help the Blind Foundation having its Indian office in Chennai has announced scholarship scheme for blind boys and girls for various states.  Last date for submission of applicationis 31st August, 2017.  Highlights of their letter are given below.  You are requested to disseminate this information for the benefit of needy and deserving blind boys and girls studying in  colleges and universities.  Please note that our job was to send this information to you for dissemination and we are in no way responsible to answer the queries of students.

Abstract of the letter from the Foundation:

It has been decided that the applications haveto be submitted by students  to college coordinators/volunteers at respective centers.
Foundation will NOT consider any application received directly from student.“We will process the applications from colleges from those centers where we could find volunteers. We can accept applications from  Jodhpur in Rajasthan, Chandigarh in Haryana ,Lucknow and Varanasi in UP and Bhopal, Indore in Madhya Pradesh in addition to Delhi.

“We can also process the freshapplications from students of B.A 2nd year or 3rd year who have not earlier received scholarships from any other source  provided they offer satisfactory explanations of the funding received in previous years and why the same funding is not available in the current year.  For applicants of
 B.Ed second year  being a second degree applications could be processed on case to case basis and on merits.

“Students pursuing Postgraduation / professional course are also eligible for scholarship, provided their average score of marks in graduation should be equal to or more than 70%. But the number of scholarships under this category is limited.
