SCHOLARSHIPS FOR STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES (2020-21)
Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, New Delhi is implementing scholarship scheme “Scholarships for Students with Disabilities” for empowerment of Students with Disabilities through education.

Components
Pre-matric Scholarship for Students with Disabilities: Class IX and X: 
Parental income ceiling per annum: Rs. 2.50 lakhs
Rate of scholarship: Scholarship of Rs.500 per month for day-scholars and Rs.800 for hostellers plus book and disability allowance ranging from Rs.2000/- to Rs.4000/-.

Class XI to Master’s Degree or Diploma level: 
Parental income ceiling per annum: Rs. 2.50 lakhsThere are different rates of
maintenance allowance for Post-Graduate, Graduate, Diploma, professional courses leading to degree,
diploma etc. in different disciplines. It ranges from Rs.900-1600 per month for hostellers and Rs.550-750 per month for day-scholars plus Tuition fee (maximum ceiling Rs.1.50 lakh per annum), book allowance
and disability allowance ranging from Rs.2000/- to Rs.4000/- per annum.

Graduate/Post Graduate Degree or Diploma in 241 notified institutions of excellence: 
Parental income ceiling per annum: Rs. 6.00 lakhs
Monthly maintenance allowance of Rs.3000/- for hostellers, Rs.1500/- for dayscholars, Rs.2000/- per month disability allowance, book grant Rs.5000/-per annum and tuition fee upto Rs.2 lakh per annum.

All the above scholarships are applicable to students with disabilities with more than 40%
disability and having a proper disability certificate to this effect issued by a competent medical
authority. Disability is as defined in Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.
