The National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology (NIIST), Thiruvananthapuram, is a premier Institute of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), involved in multidisciplinary R&D programmes of both basic and applied nature across scientific disciplines for economic, environmental and societal benefits for the people of India.

On-line applications are invited from enthusiastic, young Indian researchers having excellent academic record and proven scientific achievements along with requisite experience and a high degree of 
motivation and desire to take up research as a career in different fields, to fill up the posts of Scientists as detailed below:

Pay Band: Rs. 15600-39100 (PB-3) + Grade Pay: Rs. 6600/-
Upper Age Limit: 32 years
Qualification: B Tech and M Tech in Chemical Engineering

Age relaxation to Persons with Disability (PwD): Age relaxation of 5 years is allowed (10 years for SCs/STs, 8 years for OBCs in respect of the post reserved for them) to persons suffering from (a) blindness or
low vision (VH), (b) hearing impairment (HH) and (c) locomotor disability or cerebral palsy (OH). The persons claiming age relaxation under this sub-para would be required to produce a certificate in prescribed proforma in support of their claims clearly indicating that the degree of physical disability is 40 % or more. In any case, he appointment of these candidates  will be subject to their being found medically fit in accordance with the standards of medical fitness as prescribed by the Government for each individual Group ‘A’ posts to be filled by Direct Recruitment by Selection.

Eligible candidates are required to apply on-line through CSIR-NIIST website http://www.niist.res.in. No other mode of application will be accepted.

No fee for PwD candidates.

The duly signed print out of the computer generated application form (hard copy) along with self attested copies of certificates, mark-sheets, testimonials in support of age, educational qualifications, experience, re-prints of publications, caste certificate, if applicable, and proof of application fee remittance should be sent in an envelope superscribed “ Application for the post of …………………………….(Post Code………) by post so as to reach The Administrative Officer, CSIR-NIIST, Industrial  Estate P.O, Pappanamcode, Thiruvananthapuram-695019, Kerala on or before 5.30PM on 07-03-2017.

Following documents must be attached along with application form sent by post:
a. Coloured photograph pasted on the form and signed across in full.
b. Self Attested photocopy of Date of Birth Certificate.
c. Self Attested photocopies of educational qualifications certificates.
d. Self Attested photocopy of caste certificate, if applicable.
e. Self Attested photocopies of experience certificates, if any.
