The recent Mother's Day turned out to be a special one for beauty expert Shahnaz Husain, who, along with her daughter Nelofar Currimbhoy, celebrated it at a mall with the students of ShaSight, her school for the blind. The event was organised for the visually challenged students who are a part of Shahnaz's initiative for training blind people, and 40 of them were chosen to be employed with a healthcare firm in Abu Dhabi.
Shahnaz told us, "I feel that through charitable activities, we do contribute towards the community, and I wanted to make a positive contribution towards empowering the less privileged by supporting vocational beauty/therapy training for physically challenged girls and boys. This way, they have the opportunity to be financially independent and lead more meaningful lives. I always wanted to be someone who made a difference. This is a small effort on my part for these underprivileged people, to help them stand on their feet."
Since it was Mother's Day, Nelofar also spoke about how her mother had been her role model throughout. She said, "My mother has been the most supportive person in my life. And we both chose this day to spread and share our love with these kids."
