Empowered by Support, Driven by Determination.
Manish Kumar, 38, comes from a small town in Himachal Pradesh. Born visually impaired, he is the eldest of five siblings in a lower middle-class family. Due to limited awareness about education for blind children, his schooling was delayed. His parents tried their best to find treatment, but his vision could not be restored.
Manish’s life changed when he joined Haridwar Blind School, where he completed his 10th grade. Wanting to study further, he moved to Delhi and completed his graduation from Delhi University. During this time, he lost both of his parents. His younger brother tried to support him, but the family was going through financial difficulties.
Manish was interested in technology and knew it could help him become independent. He also wanted to appear for government job exams, but he did not have access to a computer. Without a device, it was hard to study or attend training programs.
Through someone who knew about Eyeway, Manish learned that support was available for people with visual impairments. He reached out to Eyeway and explained his situation—his interest in learning computer skills and his need for a system to prepare for exams.
Eyeway responded quickly. They arranged a desktop computer free of cost for Manish. With this support, he began computer training and started preparing for competitive exams. His aim is to use technology to earn a living and become self-reliant.
The desktop has opened new possibilities for Manish. He now feels more confident and hopeful about his future. Eyeway’s support helped him take an important step towards independence.
Manish’s journey shows that with the right guidance and tools, people with disabilities can overcome challenges and build a better life.
