Indarjeet Munda, 29, grew up in a family of six in Jharkhand—his parents, brother, sister-in-law and nephew. Born with low vision, he managed his studies like other children, but life changed when he reached Class 10. An eye infection led to complete vision loss, bringing uncertainty and fear into his everyday life.
In 2017, he visited Sankara Nethralaya for treatment. The surgery restored around 25% of his vision, giving him hope for a stable future. But in 2020, when a second procedure was performed to remove the chemical oil placed during the earlier surgery, complications occurred. He lost his sight completely again. The progress he gained slipped away, and with it, his confidence. He constantly worried about what lay ahead and how he would rebuild his life.
Things shifted when a friend told him about Eyeway. He reached out for guidance, hoping for direction. Through counselling sessions, he was encouraged to restart his education through NIOS. Motivated but still nervous, he began searching for a cyber café to help him apply. Several refused, unsure how to handle a form for a visually impaired student. After facing rejection multiple times, he contacted Eyeway again. This time, he was connected to someone who assisted him through the admission process. He successfully enrolled in Class 10.
