Learning to See a Future Through Skills and Strength

At just 21, Shristi Sahu from Lucknow carries a story shaped by loss, resilience, and quiet determination. Born into a close-knit family, Shristi’s life changed dramatically in childhood when she was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Despite treatment, she lost her eyesight in 2015 while studying in Class 5. What followed was a difficult transition—but not the end of her dreams.

Shristi enrolled at Sparsh Blind School in Lucknow, where she rebuilt her academic journey. With perseverance and support from her teachers, she completed both her 10th and 12th standards. In 2023, her family faced another devastating blow with the sudden passing of her father. Her mother, Sharda Sahu, a private teacher, took on the sole responsibility of raising Shristi and her two younger sisters, determined that her daughters’ education would not suffer.

Today, Shristi is pursuing a D.Ed. from Dr. Shakuntala Mishra National Rehabilitation University, working steadily towards becoming an educator herself. It was through a schoolteacher that she first learned about Eyeway. When Sristi reached out, she was guided to focus on computer skills as a foundation for independence and academic success.

Following this guidance, Shristi completed a two-month computer course at NAB Meerut and later a three-month basic computer training with VI Foundation. These experiences transformed her confidence. She is now technically sound, uses computers independently for her studies, and prepares for exams using accessible technology.

Shristi’s goal is clear: to secure a private job that allows her to support her mother financially and stand on her own feet. With Eyeway’s continued guidance on skill development and employment pathways, she feels motivated and empowered.
