Two Journeys, One Turning Point

For Shivam Pal and Tanvi Narkar, building an independent future came with not just ambition but constant financial and personal challenges.

Shivam, 20, who is completely blind, grew up in a modest household where his father works as a flower vendor and his mother manages the home. Despite limited resources, he pursued his education in a mainstream school and is now in his third year of graduation. His dream is clear to secure a stable government job and support his family with dignity.

Tanvi, 30, has walked a different but equally difficult path. She lost her vision later in life due to an accident, an event that disrupted her education and forced her to stop after Class 12. Adjusting to vision loss while navigating financial constraints was not easy, but Tanvi chose to rebuild. She completed a basic computer course and held on to her aspiration of becoming independent.

For both Shivam and Tanvi, the next step was crucial. They knew that improving their skills could open doors to employment, Shivam needed to learn English typing, and Tanvi aimed to complete an MSCIT course. But the cost of these courses stood in their way.

At this critical point, they reached out to Eyeway.

What followed was not just guidance, but a shift in direction. Eyeway understood their situations and identified exactly what they needed to move forward. They were counselled on suitable career paths and guided toward skill-based courses that aligned with their goals. More importantly, efforts were made to connect them with support systems that could help cover the cost of their training.

They were guided to enroll at Victoria Memorial School for the Blind (VMSB), where recognized courses could strengthen their employability. Alongside this, Tanvi was encouraged to resume her graduation, an important step that could significantly expand her career opportunities.

With the right guidance and timely support, both Shivam and Tanvi began to move forward with renewed confidence. What once felt out of reach, skills, education, and opportunity now seemed possible.

Their journeys are a reminder that sometimes, the difference between struggle and progress lies in access to the right information and support. With that bridge in place, both Shivam and Tanvi are steadily working toward lives defined not by limitation, but by independence and possibility.
