Vimal, Reshma and Nuruddin from Uttar Pradesh are suffering from severe visual impairment. As children, they could never attend regular schools due the various societal, financial and infrastructural obstacles facing them. They approached the Eyeway desk and expressed their desire to complete their formal education. We put in our best efforts to ensure that they did not fall through the gaps and were able to achieve their dreams.
We facilitated their admission to a Lucknow-based NGO that specialises in the education of adult students with disabilities. Students are rehabilitated and matching their IQ and age, admitted in appropriate classes. Vimal, Nuruddin and Reshma started discovering their academic potential in this environment. The results for classes X and XII were declared recently. Vimal scored 62 percent in Class XII, Nuruddin scored 71 percent in Class X and Reshma scored 73 percent in Class XII in the Uttar Pradesh Board examinations.
These admirable results are the successful culmination of a long journey by these students, which began from the moment they pro-actively reached out to Eyeway.
