Visually impaired students of the Institute for Blind in Sector 26 continued the streak of passing with flying colors. All the 12 students of the institute who had appeared in Class X exams passed with good grades. The institute’s topper scored CGPA 9.8.
Proving the mettle, Ritik Goyal topped among the students who appeared for Class X exams.
Ritik’s mother Manju Goyal, who is also visually impaired and works at Market Committee of Anaj Mandi, Sector 20, Panchkula, said Ritik aims to crack the UPSC.
Ritik used to study around four hours a day and loves playing cricket. “He always believe in studying less but with full dedication and concentration,” said Manju Goyal.
Devashish Barua, a resident of Ram Darbar, Phase-I, who scored CGPA 9.6, said: “Consistent study is his success mantra. I made sure that I study at least three hours a day,” he said.
Talking about the challenges a visually impaired student faces, Devashish said: “Converting notes into Braille and then studying them is not an easy task. Motivation from teachers and support from the parents is my success mantra,” he said.
A music lover Devashish loves to sing. He plans to finish high school and then crack bank PO exams.
The third position in the institute was bagged by three students, including Saurav, Muskan and Suman. They all scored CGPA 8.8.
Among the other students who passed Class X includes Rizwan (CGPA 8.2), Sunil Kumar (CGPA 8), Zavi Singh (CGPA 7.6), Nisha (CGPA 7.6), Manoj Kumar (CGPA 7.6), Varun and Sahil (CGPA 6.6). Institute’s principal JS Jayara said, “It is the entire team’s aim to provide the students quality education and make them excel in life.”
