Visually challenged persons seek free house pattas

Thu, 07/19/2012 - 12:20 -- admin

Visually challenged persons marched to the Collector's office from Thangaraj Salai to draw the attention of the State government to consider their demands, which included issuance of house site pattas.

The members led by Sadasivam, Rajamani and others pleaded to the Collector during the grievance day meeting to direct the authorities concerned to issue free house site pattas.

District Collector U. Sagayam asked the authorities to examine their demands for house site pattas and issue necessary orders.

Green homes

As per the government norms, differently-abled persons who possessed vacant site pattas would be eligible for getting assistance provided by the government in building green homes.

Two visually challenged persons who had complied with the norms regarding the free pattas, received formal approval from the Collector, a press note issued from the administration said here on Monday.

Financial aid

At the public grievance meeting, the Collector also gave away financial assistance to a fourth standard girl student, who wanted help to pursue her education.

A washer man who had sought help from the district administration through the “thodu vanaam” (internet) facility also drew the attention of the Collector.

His grievance was immediately redressed by the Collector.
