Hope you’re doing fine. Been a while since I wrote and am sure you know why. To say that covid-19 has upended our lives is an understatement. Like a boxer looming over you after a knockout punch, the disease still rages on, incapacitating and killing people, destroying businesses and leaving a scar that is unlikely to fade away.
Thankfully, I’ve recovered from covid infection at least in the physical sense, while I’m still processing what happened during the month-long ordeal with the disease. I’ve been serializing my experience in the six-part (I can say it’s six because I’ve completed it) to share the challenges I faced as a blind person left in a patient-only isolation ward with the lingering scent and smell of the killer disease.
I’m sure you’ve read the first four parts. Here’re links to part five and six. If you have blindness or any disability, I’m sure my experience would alert you to the dangers of covid-19 and the challenges you might face when left alone. Even if you don’t have a disability, my experience will open you up to the challenges of people with disability in the times of the raging pandemic.
In any case, I’m writing this to spread awareness on the dangers of covid-19 and how it could affect people mentally and psychologically. Please share this with anyone who you think would benefit and also let me know what you think of the content itself. I love to hear from you.
