New Delhi, The Directorate of Education (DoE) has released guidelines for admissions to Delhi government-run special schools for entry-level classes and Classes 1 to 9 and 11. According to a circular dated March 6, students from recognized schools will be directly admitted to Classes 6 to 9.

In a significant verdict, the Supreme Court on Monday held that visually impaired persons cannot be denied opportunity of employment in judicial services. A bench comprising justices J B Pardiwala and R Mahadevan had reserved the judgement on six petitions, including a suo motu (on its own) case, on December 3, last year over non-grant of quota to such candidates in judicial services in a few states.
The Supreme Court on Monday ruled that visually impaired candidates could not be said to be “not suitable” for judicial service, citing examples of accomplished blind individuals who have excelled and made significant contribution to the field of law.
