HYDERABAD: With the Central Board for Secondary Education (CBSE), for the second time in two years, issuing a circular stating that schools affiliated to it must appoint special educators as part of inclusive education, the Special Educators Forum of India (SEFI) has sent two representations to the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan and the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samithi.
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The General Education Department has issued orders giving conditional permission to admit visually impaired students in the state’s higher secondary and vocational higher secondary schools.
The order also lays down the admission procedure to be followed for such students by the Directorates of Higher Secondary Education, Vocational Higher Secondary Education and the State Council for Educational Research and Training (SCERT).
Around 40 visually challenged children from Ranga Rao Memorial School for the Disabled will participate in the mass yoga demonstration on at Mysuru Racecourse on Wednesday.
A yoga teacher appointed by the district administration has been training the students and more than 1,000 employees of Cycle Pure Agarbathies for an hour every day.
It takes more skill and planning for a teacher to train visually challenged students. The instructions should be clear, concise and direct, giving an overview of the pose and a sense of its direction, a release said.
There were smiles all around as the Kochi Metro organised a 'special' ride on Sunday, exclusively for special children and the inmates of old-age homes. Nearly 450 students from 43 special schools in the city were part of the 'happy journey' along with elderly residents of the Government supervised old-age homes from around Kochi travelled in the ride, and the happiness was reflected on their faces as they travelled from Kalamassery to Aluva.

Deepa V. Nayak secured 92% in her SSLC exam. For a student with visual-impairment this is a big feat. A student of Ambubai Residential School for Blind Girls, Ms. Deepa spent a considerable amount of time after school at Mitra Jothi, a foundation in HSR Layout that assists the visually impaired. She would prepare for the exam with the help of the audio and Braille books available at the centre.
The vast campus of the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) will welcome a fresh batch of 400 Postgraduate Programme (PGP) students on Thursday. However, a few students have arrived early to attend the voluntary preparatory classes.

Visually impaired students of the Institute for Blind in Sector 26 continued the streak of passing with flying colors. All the 12 students of the institute who had appeared in Class X exams passed with good grades. The institute’s topper scored CGPA 9.8.
Proving the mettle, Ritik Goyal topped among the students who appeared for Class X exams.
