Kanthari Talks looks to create changemakers in society.
The tenth anniversary of ‘Kanthari Talks’, a platform to create changes in the society, will be held in Bengaluru on November 24 and 25 at St John’s Auditorium, Koramangala.
The theme this year is ‘Change from Within’, which aims to encourage people who want to make a change. ‘Kanthari Talks’ is the culmination of a seven-month leadership course, which has people sharing their life story as well as solutions for issues they have been facing, which they will implement in their own societies.

A new statue at Nelson Mandela Square in Sandton is aimed at making the "impossible possible" by letting visually impaired people "see" the late statesman.
Exxaro mining, Rotarians of Rotary District 9400, the Nelson Mandela Foundation, the South African National Council for the Blind and Stanlib partnered to create the 1m replica of the Mandela statue that will be unveiled by the struggle icon's widow Graça Machel in Sandton on Friday afternoon.
Exxaro CEO Mxolisi Mgojo said they wanted to make the "impossible possible".

Madurai: As many as 520 differently-abled people, including 145 girls and women, took part in the district level athletics and games held at MGR Race Course Stadium in Madurai.
The sports development authority of Tamil Nadu (SDAT) in coordination with the differently abled welfare department organised the event aimed at giving mental and physical motivation to differently abled people.

Differently abled wait for benefits 2 years after Centre passes Act
BENGALURU: Two years after the Parliament passed the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Bill-2016 and enacted it as a law, Karnataka is yet to implement the Act. Among the benefits to be extended to the differently-abled persons, in accordance with the Act, are issuing of smart cards, giving two-wheelers specially designed for those with locomotor disability, and talking laptops for the blind.

Goa: The International Film Festival of India (IFFI) is all set to roll out the red carpet to host the film fraternity in Goa. An assistant professor of Punjabi University, Dr Kiran Kumari, will get the Role of Model award from President Ram Nath Kovind on the International Day of Disabled Persons on December 3 in Delhi.
At present, she is associated with the Department of Social Sciences. Despite being blind, she has been performing her duties with full of dedication. One of her students has already completed PhD under her guidance.
Five other students are enrolled under for PhD while 7 are pursuing MPhil.
