Just a few years ago, Li Mengqi could not have imagined shopping on her own. Someone needed to always keep her company to say aloud what was in front of her, who’s been blind since birth.
For anyone who completes the iconic New York Marathon, the sense of achievement is huge. But for visually impaired couple Mike Lloyd, who also lives with Parkinson's Disease, and Laura Eitjes, the achievement is barely comprehensible.
MYSURU: Shivananda Kelur, the teacher, stretches his legs out in front, inhales and raises his arms above his head. Later, he exhales, bends forward and stretches his arms towards the toes.Scores of students bend and adopt the same stance. But this is not your typical yoga class. All these students are visually challenged.
CAVINKARE ABILITY Awards are National Awards that are awarded annually to four individuals with disability. Jointly instituted by CavinKare Pvt. Ltd and Ability Foundation, these prestigious awards come in two categories (please note nomination can be made for one category only).
