Shailendra Yadav, general secretary, North Zone Blind Cricket Association said that he has been visiting Uttarakhand for last few years for river rafting but was never refused because of his disability.

The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) on Thursday said that it had granted a compensation of ₹25,000 to a visually impaired woman (20) who was allegedly raped on May 5 in Karol Bagh.
“The woman belongs to the poorest section of the society. The Commission had called for an urgent meeting and has allotted an immediate compensation to her so that the family can ensure a proper door is installed in the jhuggi immediately. Also, the DCW has approached the court, seeking compensation for the woman,” DCW said in a statement.
