BENGALURU: Microsoft has created a tool that lets visually impaired people code faster.
The project dubbed CodeTalk helps such coders navigate faster on screen, offers audio cues for bugs in the program, and helps users locate and skip comments on their document.
The Bombay High Court on Thursday directed that the HC shall not fill 4% of posts reserved for person with disability for stenographer, junior clerk and peon in the current recruitment process at district courts.

The final leg of Third Edition of the National Blind Football Tournament for the visionless concluded with flying colours in Kochi, Kerala on Tuesday.The home team won the game and with it the sparkling trophy too. Amrit Scholarship for Disability Studies announced for masters' level students.
The Amrit Foundation of India aims to promote disability research in India. To start with, Amrit has announced the launch of its scholarship program for masters' level students for 2018-19.
Hyderabad: Disability is merely in a person’s mind and this has been proved by the recently released UPSC results. Over 29 differently-abled candidates have made it to the IAS selections. Of these, there were 9 orthopaedically challenged, 8 visually challenged and 12 hearing impaired candidates who have made the cut. These candidates have stated that it took a lot of hard work and support from people who thought beyond their disability like their teachers and parents.
Jayant Mankale, a visually impaired 25-year-old and the son of water pump operator cleared the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination this year, securing an all India rank (AIR) of 923.
Mankale, a resident of Beed, studied mechanical engineering from Amrutvahini College of Engineering, Sangamner and cracked the civil service exam in his fourth attempt in the specially abled category. He now hopes to land his dream job in the Indian Foreign Service (IFS).

Calling people "blind" is old-fashioned and misleading, a charity has said as it looks for a new name.
Oxfordshire Association for the Blind is searching for alternatives to make it more appealing and less "scary" to parents, young people and visually impaired people.
The charity's fundraising manager Laura Howdill said that people had been shocked and upset by the charity's name because of the stigma and misunderstandings attached to the word "blind".
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal on Wednesday issued instructions that such JBT teachers as are either visually impaired or are suffering from chronic disease, should be posted at stations near their house.
Due to non-availing of opportunity in the transfer policy of the Education Department, such teachers have been deprived of allotment of stations near to their house. Now, all such teachers will be transferred immediately, said the Chief Minister while holding a Janta Darbar to address issues and grievances of the people here.
