THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: City-based genius Prasanth C, who recently entered the India Book of Records for his memorisation skills, has broken his old record. This time, the differently-abled youngster recalled the days for the most number of dates given within the timeframe of a minute earning him an entry into the Asia Book of Records. The record breaking feat was held on Thursday at Hotel Hycinth in the city.

Meet Rajeswari, a visually-challenged Tamil lecturer at the Quaid E Milleth Government College for Women and the programme coordinator-cum-vice president of the Tamil Nadu Association of the Blind (TNAB), Tondairpet.

Visually impaired students in the city find it difficult to find scribes when they have to write examinations in languages other than English. Non-governmental organisations (NGOs), who generally arrange for these scribes, say that while it is relatively easier to find volunteers to write answer papers in English, not many come forward to write in Kannada or other regional languages.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Students with visual impairment in the state will be given admission to science stream in Higher Secondary classes, from this year onwards.
