In her inaugural address, Verma said that those children did not sympathy from anyone, but they need concomitance and love from the people.

Uttar Pradesh Congress staged a dharna over atrocities on blind students of Dr Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University and the cane charge after students tried to raise their demands.

Party MLC Deepak Singh, who sat on the dharna to protest administrative excesses on blind students in Lucknow on Wednesday, alleged that the Yogi government was violating all norms to harass students and even blind students were not being spared.

Despite being devoid of sense of sight, she goes out of her way to inspire the children she teaches.
