REC has sanctioned CSR assistance of Rs45.15 lakh to Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi for ‘Distribution of 50 Laptops with customised software for visually impaired students pursuing higher education’ to provide barrier free environment for higher education and enable them to pursue professional or technical education and get employed/ self-employed to find a dignified place for themselves in the society.

Cancer Survivors and New Mothers Liven Up Bengaluru's Pinkathon Run

BENGALURU: Thirty-five new mothers and their babies participated in the annual Pinkathon run in Bengaluru on Sunday morning.

Among the 10,000 women who ran various distances in the run to raise breast cancer awareness were students, housewives, corporate executives, cancer survivors, and women from underprivileged and visually impaired sections.

India's first accessible restaurant finder and menu reading app is here. It aims to make eating out more dignified, sociable and enjoyable for everyone including persons with visual impairments, weak eyesight and dyslexia. Anyone who has trouble reading the restaurant menu will cherish Good Food Talks.

Using the accessibility features on the phone or tablet, one can control the font size, change the colours, or have the menus spoken out loud.
