UPSC Success Story: Proper use of technology can prove beneficial in life. Jaipur’s 23-year-old visually impaired Manu Garg proved this by achieving 91st rank in the final UPSC result.
Jaipur: Technology, when used correctly, can prove to be invaluable in life. This was proven by 23-year-old visually impaired Manu Garg from Jaipur, who secured 91st rank in the UPSC final results. Manu Garg, a resident of Shastri Nagar, cleared the UPSC exam without knowing Braille. Manu says he doesn’t know Braille, but he used technology to clear the UPSC exam.

From Setback to Comeback: Rising Through Adversity

Monu Gupta, a resident of Uttam Nagar, Delhi, comes from a humble middle-class background. Born in 1991 in Rewari, Haryana, he moved to Delhi in 1995 with his family after his father was transferred there.

Monu’s father initially established a thriving business in Delhi. However, as financial pressures increased and his father's health declined due to diabetes, Monu had to make a difficult choice—he left school after 8th grade to take responsibility for the family business.

A demonstration of an artificial intelligence-powered suitcase, designed to assist visually impaired individuals as a robotic alternative to guide dogs, will be conducted at the Osaka Expo, set to open on Sunday.

The latest model incorporates generative AI technology, enabling it to describe the surrounding environment through voice feedback. Equipped with a built-in camera and sensors, the suitcase can analyze its surroundings and provide real-time guidance to users.
