Garba for Visually Impaired People

National Sports Club for the Blind (NSCB) takes pleasure  to announce a garba eventfor the visually challenged people  to be held on Saturday,  the  20th October,2012.

 The venu is MNB Industrial home for the blind, Jogeshwari West, Mumbai.
The event starts from 3 p.m. onwards.
 Hurry! The entry is on the 'first come first serve' basis.
 Its limited to only first 50 people. Entry fee is Rs.30/
- (Rupees thirty only)
Everyone present will be provided with refreshment and the event will be followed by dinner.

Exhibition of Photographs

opening and preview of “WIDE EYE OPEN” - Exhibition of photographs by the Visually Impaired on Friday 5th October 2012 at 6.30 pm at the Galerie Romain Rolland, Alliance Francaise de Delhi, 72, Lodi Estate, New Delhi - 110003.

The exhibition will be on view until Thursday 18th October 2012 from 11 am to 8 pm all days including Sunday.

Workshop on Early Intervention for Children with Special Needs

It is common knowledge that intervention should begin as early as possible for it to be effective. When a child is young it may be difficult to have a definitive diagnosis, but a parent instinctively knows if her child shows developmental delays. Teachers notice immediately if a child is different in the classroom. A variety of strategies can be used to help the child and these strategies are enriching for all children. Effective early intervention can often make a huge difference in closing the learning gaps.

International White Cane Day by MCFVH

The MCFVH is going to celebrate the International White cane Day on 17/10/2012 . So the organization invites all the visually impaired persons of Odisha to be gathered in a large number on the said date in the organization premises at 10.00 A.M . But all the participants are required to register their name before 10th October 2012 through phone or E-mail to conform their participation.

Exhibition of Photographs

Bouncing back in life with photo workshops & exhibition at Alliance Française de Delhi.

We will exhibiting photographs taken by several visually impaired from 2006 to 2011 at the Alliance Française de Delhi .
A batch of 10 participants per day. Workshop is free of cost. Cameras will be arranged by Partho Bhowmick.

Photo workshops with the visually impaired will be exposed them about the basic ways of taking pictures by touch, audio clues, warmth of light and other intuitive skills. This would be a pilot workshop which build upon later.

Guidance Program for Visually Challenged Students and Teachers

At a time when the Right to Education ( RTE) Act aims at inclusive education for students, no matter their physical disability or economical background, activists too are working in the same direction. Next week, the Jeevan Vidya Mission (JVM) will conduct a guidance program for visually challenged students and teachers, and also distribute books in Braille for free.

Antarchakshu

Antarchakshu - The Eye Within, is conducted by the XRCVC, an event which provides an opportunity to the larger community to not just experience and explore the world of the disabled, but understand it; a world which is not that different. Antarchakshu creates a simulated environment which gives a chance to its participants to be in the world of the disabled. It takes approximately an hour for the entire experience.

Technical Training Institute (TTI) in partnership with Perkins, is proud to announce the date for a workshop on Brailler, magnifier and computing in indian languages.

All students studying in High school, Special Educators, Administrators of schools for the visually Impaired, and persons with visual impairment willing to know more about current technology are welcome to participate in this event.
