Anjali was born as a tiny project in 2001 to create an inclusive society through interactive and joyful learning. Besides being a model for ‘One World’ and ‘Joyful Learning’ – it is also the ONLY Children’s Festival in India. We have been able to involve 5700 children already. Children from 14 states have participated in this camp.
We are very happy to inform you that Mitra Jyothi is conducting a one-day workshop on the topic "Education on Consumer Rights" in collaboration with National Institute for the Visually Handicapped, Dehradun for the people with visual impairement, staff of organisations working for visually impaired and care takers can attend this workshop.
Problem Statement
An estimated 386 million of the world's working-age people have some kind of disability, says the International Labor Organization (ILO).
An international conference focusing on digital information accessibility and inclusive libraries will happen in New Delhi in October 2010. More than 50 experts from all over the world will make presentations on latest technologies, products and best practices in the field of digital information accessibility. It is a great opportunity to get updates on the recent developments and meet the leading personalities in this arena. If you are interested, please register at the earliest.
THE PROGRESSIVE SOCIETY FOR THE SIGHTLESS is going to organise an all-India seminar on HOW THE SIGHTLESS SHAPE THE CIVIL SOCIETY on November 5 and 6, 2009 in Satyawati College, Phase 3, Ashok Vihar, New Delhi - 110052. It will be an interactive seminar between the service providers and the consumers. The uniqueness of the seminar lies in the fact that majority of the paper presenters are new faces and after every session, half an hour will be given to interact with the team of experts. An opportunity to share your thoughts and creativity! ABILITY FOUNDATION invites you to participate in "60 Seconds to Fame!" All-India One-minute Film Competition on disability focussing on the need for equal opportunities for persons with disabilities.
The three best entries will receive cash prize of Rs. One Lakh, Rs. Seventy Five Thousand and Rs. Fifty Thousand respectively. A national jury comprising eminent celebrity filmmakers/actors from across the country, as well as distinguished persons from the disability sector, will select the prize winning entries.
Brotherhood and Asian Academy of Film and Television (AAFT) are organizing Script Writing workshop for persons with disability from 29 September to 3 October 2009 at Marwah Studios Complex, FC 14/15, Film City, Sector 16A, Noida (U.P.) from 10 am to 4 p.m.
The purpose is to enhance the communication skill of the persons with disability so that they can learn to communicate issues and concerns related to disability through the medium of films and documentaries.
ILS Law College is hosting a conference on Convention on Rights of Persons with Disability on 19 September 2009 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Mr. S.K. Runta - an eminent lawyer from New Delhi and Mr. Rajesh Asudhani - Asst. manager in RBI Nagpur have been invited as resource persons. Professor Sanjay Jain - faculty member of ILS Law College is also going to make a presentation on Judicial Approaches to Rights of Disabled.

West Zone Chess Tournament for the Blind 2010 will be held at Guru Govindsingh Krida Sankul, Nanded from 27 to 30 May 2010.
This tournament is jointly organised by All India Chess Federation for the Blind and Marathwada Sports Council for the Blind.
