Xavier's Resource Centre for the Visually Challenged (XRCVC), Mumbai, with the kind permission of Maharashtra State Bank Employees Federation, has made an accessible version of "HANDBOOK ON MODEL PAPERS FOR IBPS RECRUITMENT EXAMINATION" (Publication No. 2, dated - 18th October 2011) for clerical level. This book is published by Banking Personnel Training Centre, Maharashtra State Bank Employees Federation (Affiliated to All India Bank Employees Association).

Training workshop on screen reading software by IIIT-Hyderabad, India

IIIT-Hyderabad, India, is conducting a training workshop for visually challenged individuals. The objective of this workshop is to train individuals on using computers through an open source screen reading software "NVDA" in both Indian accented English and in Telugu language. The Telugu text-to-speech system used in this workshop is being developed at IIIT-Hyderabad as a part of MCIT sponsored consortium project.

We are bringing together people with visual impairment who are in to the stream of commerce & economics in an email group called VIPs in Commerce.
 
Because not many V I people take up commerce as their field of study or work, those few into it face difficulties in arranging for accessible material, knowing better ways of working & learning subjects such as accounts, economics, taxation, costing, finance etc.  So we felt sharing of knowledge and experience is really needed in this domain.
