Visually Challenged Students Still Await Second Term Books

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: With barely two months left for the academic year to close, the visually challenged school students in the state are yet to get most books, especially the the second term (part 2) of classes I to VIII.Only a few schools got part 2 books of classes  II, III, VI and VIII, the syllabus of which changed this year.

अशक्त लोगों को गणतंत्र दिवस के मौके पर चंडीगढ़ प्रशासन ने बड़ा तोहफा दिया है। उनकी पेंशन में इजाफा कर दिया गया है। यूटी सचिवालय में चंडीगढ़ समाज कल्याण विभाग की स्टेट एक्जिक्यूटिव कमेटी डिसएबिलटिस की बैठक हुई।


Flavin Returns with Job Offer

KOCHI: Flavin Gracious of Vypeen, a visually challenged  girl who came to receive braille laptop returned home with a job offer given by the Chief Minister.

Flavin, who has many qualifications to her credit including MA, MEd, NET, SET and JRF, is a rank-holder at the university level.

City's Disabled Can't 'Go' Outside

BENGALURU: Swachh Bengaluru is woefully short of disabled-friendly toilets. A quick survey of busy spots, across the city, found that most did not have such a facility. 

The few disabled-friendly toilets were locked away or badly maintained. Ramps and railings were missing in most places and we were not able to spot even one braille signage.
