So what do you expect from an India-Pakistan clash in a World Cup? A stadium packed to the rafters, unmatched noise from the crowd and of course, an Indian win. Alas, none of the three were anywhere to be seen on Wednesday at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium, venue for the match involving the two arch-rivals in T20 World Cup for the blind.
In the much-awaited T-20 World Cup for the blind, held at Holkar stadium here on Thursday, India inflicted a crushing defeat on England by winning the match with 10 wickets. Electing to bat first, England in 20 overs scored 158 runs.
In reply to this competitive total, Indian batsmen notched the victory in just 11 overs with brilliant half centuries by Ganesh and Sukhram who scored 78 and 67 runs respectively. Ganesh was declared man of the match. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan congratulated Indian cricket team for the Blind for this brilliant victory.

Deepak Malik bowls at a speed of 140km/hr and is regarded as the world’s fastest bowler. He also holds the record of the fastest half-century in the ODI World Cups. Another talented lad, Rambir Singh, holds the record for the most economical bowling (at under six runs per over) in Asia Cup T20. Both are young and promising but the most cruel part is that they cannot see.
The two are visually impaired.

Sports Minister Vijay Goel has, yet again, become a huge target on social media, this time due to, as some claim, his insensitivity towards blind cricketers and people.
New Delhi [India], Jan.31 (ANI): India will aim to complete a hat-trick of wins in the T20 World Cup for the blind when they take on their arch-rivals Pakistan in their third match of the tournament at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium here tomorrow.
India kicked off their campaign on a winning note as they crushed Bangladesh by 129 runs at IIT Ground in the national capital on Monday.
The home side continued their imperious form on Day two as well by hammering West Indies by 142 runs at the Nahar Singh Stadium in Faridabad today.

The focus this year, according to the officials in the Home Ministry, was recognising talent of unknown and unsung heroes of the country.

Many visually challenged cricketers pledged for organ donation by filling up donor forms or registered themselves as blood donors. The organ and blood donation camp was organised by the ROTTO PGIMER in collaboration with the Shri Shiv Kanwar Mahasangh Charitable Trust, an NGO. The camp was organised on the sidelines of the National Cricket Tournament for the Blind being held by the Blind Cricket Association at Tau Devi Lal Stadium, Sector 2, Panchkula, today.
KANNUR: To her, it was darkness everywhere, but Shifna’s eyes were glittering as if they were celebrating her victory. Shifna Mariyam, a visually impaired Class X student of Government Model Girls High School, Pattom, who came through appeal, won second prize and ‘A’ grade in the mimicry competition. Shifna went to contest in the district-level competition from hospital bed.
