Computer Science to be started in all four Govt Blind Schools

Jodhpur: Education Minister Madan Dilawar on Wednesday said that computer science will be introduced as a subject in all 4 state-run blind schools from the upcoming academic session. During a felicitation ceremony at the Govt Blind School in Jodhpur, Dilawar said that serving the visually impaired is akin to serving God. He said that, like the strength of women, visually impaired individuals are also key to nation building. He assured that arrangements for playgrounds for the children would be made soon.

The Delhi High Court on Wednesday (September 24, 2025) noted that it cannot issue an order compelling the Centre or the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to redesign currency, while hearing a plea seeking the introduction of ₹50 notes with special identification marks for visually impaired persons.

Students huddled over evening snacks, moving cautiously along yellow tactile tiles while resting against each other for support – at a glance it looks like a usual day at Institute for the Blind, Panchkuian Road. However, a sense of unease hung over the staff at the institute – in two weeks, these classrooms and corridors, which the visually impaired children know so well, could disappear forever.
