This contactless National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) debit card is available on RuPay network, PNB said in a statement.
The introduction of the new braille debit card reflects the bank’s commitment to inclusivity and financial accessibility, it said.

Thirty-one-year Phooljahan lives in Thane, Maharashtra. She was born to a low income family with six brothers and six sisters. She developed a fever at the age of four, which resulted in sudden sight loss. But the doctor at the time gave some hope to the family, saying Phooljahan could possibly regain vision at a later stage. She would need a surgery five years later for the same.
Twenty-six-year-old Niranjan Patil was born sighted in a village near Belgaum district in Karnataka. He lost his father at a young age and the financial burden rests on his mother who is a farmer.
Niranjan studied in mainstream institutions up till graduation but in the latter years of his schooling, he started encountering eyesight issues. Due to a lack of understanding about the problem, he could not articulate it to anyone in his family or even at school. He continued struggling to study with weakening vision.
