It was a shoot with a difference. A group of visually challenged students had a day with the Camera at the University of Hyderabad.
The objective help the students try to translate mental images into reality while taking pictures. Well known author Partho Bhowmick (author of See As No Other & In Touch) was the resource person.
BENGALURU: A complimentary webcam with a laptop and a printing machine to submit essay papers are all it takes for visually impaired 37-year-old Pranav Lal to follow his passion of becoming a photographer and a writer.
The Kuwait-born-Delhiite takes pictures from his iPhone SE, mainly of landscapes and structures. He is fascinated with objects that he cannot touch. For example his favourite photograph that he took is of a geyser in Iceland in 2011.
HUBLI: A visually impaired association in Karnataka’s Hubli district, while lauding the demonetization initiative, has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to print the new currency notes in the Braille script.
The Chickennakoppa Andhara Kalyana Samithi, a local blind organisaion, expressed this views to the media here.
The teachers and parents have a very important place in life of a child and the children too should respect their parents and teachers, said the Governor of Uttarakhand, KK Paul while addressing a painting exhibition organised on the occasion of Children’s day at Rajbhavan on Monday.

The Punjab and Haryana High Court has passed a stricture against the Haryana Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities for acting beyond the powers vested in him, pretending to be a court and hijacking the functioning of the government department.
The 15th edition of the CavinKare Ability Awards has invited nominations from amazing and awe-inspiring achievers with disabilities.
The awards come in two categories: CAVINKARE ABILITY Award for Eminence and the CAVINKARE ABILITY Mastery Awards. Each person can be nominated for one category.

With Prime Minister Narendra Modi announcing the withdrawal of currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 in circulation from the midnight of November 8 2016, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is introducing other currency notes of higher denomination.

Vidya Sagar, an organisation that works with people with disabilities, hosted a panel discussion with authors and publishers who have written and published books on children with disabilities, at the Madras School of Economics on Saturday.
“There are very few books that can be accessed by children with disabilities,” said Rajul Padmanabhan, director, Vidyasagar. “It is important to include them in the school syllabus,” she said.
Over 52000 schoolchildren from all across the country lined up to take part in the Salwan Marathon held on Sunday in New Delhi. The annual run, which has made its own mark in India's sporting calendar that aims to inspire children through the inspirational power of sports, brought together students from various schools across India, including children from regions such as North-East, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
